Last week, I had the opportunity to work backstage at Paris Fashion Week. I am here for a month studying at the Paris American Academy in their Fashion Merchandising & Communication Program and it’s been amazing so far!
Our first four days here in Paris, we had the opportunity to work backstage during Haute Couture PFW dressing models for countless designers. Haute Couture is exceptionally amazing because the gowns and garments are so well crafted and detailed (+ we got to see these pieces up-close and personal).
Farhad Re Couture FW 19
This was Farhad Re’s first Couture show in Paris Fashion Week and his pieces were so innovative and well constructed.
Love the feather detailing on the straps of this gown

Georges Hobeika Haute Couture FW 19/20
This was hands down my favorite show. The gowns were breathtaking, the beading was so intricate, and the designs screamed luxury. Georges Hobeika has significantly taken off in the last year after designing actress and celebrity Priyanka Chopra’s wedding gown.

Alexandre Vauthier FW 19
This show was held in the Grand Palais in Paris & I loved how Vauthier mixed femininity with workwear in this collection.
Celine Dion turned heads at the show in her custom couture Vauthier.
Yolancris FW 19
Yolancris is a designer out of Barcelona who has become all the rage in Spain & her pieces definitely justified her credibility!
With a mix of Spanish culture & history spread throughout her designs, the detailing of this collection was so beautiful.

And that was a wrap for the shows we worked during PFW. It was such an unforgettable experience getting to see Couture designers and their pieces put into action. I got to witness firsthand stories coming to life through design, craftsmanship and fashion. The Paris American Academy gave us an opportunity a handful of students would die for so I will be cherishing these moments for a very long time to come.
How wonderful! You are one lucky gal. Loved the pics and your summary.
